An individual session with a psychologist

If you recognise your situation, you don't have to choose a method in advance. Write in your first message what is going on — I'll tell you whether I work with a request like that.

How a session goes

First meeting — we go through the situation

For the first few minutes you simply say how things are; perfect wording is not required. Then I ask questions to separate what can be changed from what does not depend on you right now, and to see what keeps the problem in place. By the end of the hour we have a draft map of the situation and a first step — one concrete observation or action before the next session.

We put the goal into words and choose the tools

We agree on the signs by which you will notice change in ordinary life, not only in sessions. The format follows the task: talking work, exercises, hypnotherapy where it fits, or a combination. You always know what we are doing and why — there is no working blind here.

We check the movement and finish on time

Every few sessions we come back to the goal: what has shifted, what is stuck, what to change in the approach. If continuing stops being useful, I say so directly: we adjust course, finish the work, or discuss another specialist. How long the work lasts is something we discuss openly and regularly — sessions do not continue out of habit.

Online from abroad

Online sessions run exactly like in-person ones: same length, same method, same confidentiality. Clients join from Germany, Poland, Czechia, the Baltics, the US and elsewhere; we agree a time that fits your time zone — evening slots in Europe are the ones I keep for clients abroad. Prices for payment from abroad are fixed in euros: one hour — 80 €, two hours — 135 €; online sessions are paid in full at booking, and a free reschedule is possible up to 24 hours before. I work as a psychologist based in Kazakhstan: this is not a medical service in your country of residence and does not replace care from a local doctor — if you need a local specialist route, I’ll say so directly.

When another format fits better

  • I don’t make decisions for you: the work depends on your part in it. If you need a ready answer, this format will disappoint.
  • You can’t change another person without their part in it — but you can work out how you live with it, and that is already about you.
  • If urgent medical or psychiatric help is needed right now — that route first; I join in afterwards.

Before you book

A short set of rules the work is built on. They are the same for every format and do not change from session to session.

  • Sessions are confidential: what is said in them is not discussed with anyone. The exceptions are a direct threat to life — yours or someone else's — and cases directly provided for by law; I explain these limits at the first meeting.
  • I am a psychologist, not a doctor: I do not make medical diagnoses and do not prescribe medication. If I see that you need a doctor, I say so plainly and help you find your bearings.
  • The work rests on accuracy: when you tell me about your health and any medication you take, say it as it is. Withholding something important puts you at risk and is a reason to stop the work.
  • Come to the session sober. If a person arrives intoxicated, the session does not take place and the payment for that day is not returned.
  • If you feel very bad right now and are having thoughts of harming yourself, don't wait for an appointment: call your local emergency number. In Kazakhstan that is 112 or 103 — free, around the clock; across the EU, 112 works in every country.

Frequently asked questions

How do I choose between one hour and two?

For a single focused question an hour is usually enough. Two hours suit a first meeting with a long story; we'll settle the choice before booking.

Will there be hypnosis in every session?

No. Hypnotherapy is one of the strong suits of my practice, but I use it only by agreement and when it fits the task.

How many sessions will I need?

As a rough guide, most often three to five — but the exact number is not decided in advance. After the first consultation it becomes clearer what rhythm makes sense.

How do I know it's time to see a psychologist rather than wait it out?

If the subject keeps coming back for weeks, gets in the way of sleep, work or relationships, and talking to people close to you doesn't move it — that is reason enough. You don't need to wait for a properly serious reason: coming early makes the situation clearer sooner, and how long the work lasts is individual.

I don't know how to start the conversation. Is that a problem?

No. Starting with “I don't know how to explain it, but I can't go on like this” is fine. I'll help with questions; finding the precise words is part of the work, not a ticket to get in.

Do you give advice?

I don't hand out ready decisions like “get divorced” or “quit your job”: those decisions stay yours. My part is the structure, the observations and the tools that make the decision visible and stop it being agonising.

Payment and rescheduling

Online sessions are prepaid in full at booking. Free rescheduling up to 24 hours ahead.

Let's put the task into words together

You don't have to arrive with perfect wording. Describing what is happening now is enough — in the first meeting we'll build the picture and decide on the next step.
