Lyudmila Chernysheva
This page is about how I work, where I trained and where the limits of my work are.

I am Lyudmila Chernysheva, a professional psychologist. For twenty years I have worked with teenagers and adults, with children and with couples, in person and online.
Why I do this work
For as long as I can remember I have been drawn to the deeper questions: how a person finds happiness, comes to understand themselves, and makes the world around them a little better. Over the years I have studied psychology, philosophy, religious traditions, scientific research, ancient texts and Vedic culture. That reading widened my understanding of human nature and added to my professional approach.
What I work with, and how
What I work with
In my practice I work with anxiety, stress, emotional crises, inner conflicts, low self-esteem and difficulties in relationships. What matters to me is not only easing the outward signs of a problem, but understanding with the person where it comes from — and finding the inner resources for change.
How I build the work
I build each piece of work individually, taking in the person, their situation, their emotional state and their goals. I help people understand themselves better, steady their emotions, rebuild their inner footing and develop the ability to cope with difficulties on their own.
Hypnotherapy in my practice
One distinct strand of my practice is hypnotherapy: I use it when it fits the request, and always by agreement — the method follows the task, not the other way round.
More about hypnotherapy
How a session goes, who the method is not suitable for and what the research says — on a page of its own.
Where the work begins
The work starts from a request said in your own words. Not “raise my self-esteem” but “stop rewriting an email to a colleague ten times”. Not “fix our relationship” but “stop going silent for three days after every argument”. Not “deal with anxiety” but “ride the lift to the twelfth floor without dread”. A request like that can be checked a few sessions later — you can see what changed and what did not.
I state the limits straight away. A psychologist is not a doctor: I don't make diagnoses, I don't prescribe medication, and I don't overrule what a doctor has prescribed.
What is said in a session stays between us, and nothing is recorded. Difficult cases I take to supervision anonymously, without names or identifying details. The exception is the one set out in law — a threat to life.
Education and qualifications
I keep my qualifications current: training programmes, seminars, conferences and workshops — and I bring what I learn back into practice.
What matters to me
Honesty, decency, openness, respect for the person, and a genuine readiness to change. I love nature, the mountains and solitude — they keep me balanced, thoughtful and growing.
My task
My task as a psychologist is not to hand out ready answers, but to help a person hear themselves, discover their own capacities and move step by step towards a more conscious, steady and harmonious life.
Documents
Diplomas and certificates can be requested before booking — I'll send the scans.
- the documents themselves are in Russian
- I don't issue certificates or reports for courts, guardianship authorities or employers
A question before booking
Can I see the documents before booking?
Yes. Ask before booking and I'll send the scans.
Do you work with my kind of case?
I'll answer honestly in messages, before any payment. If the request is outside my competence or you need a doctor, I'll say where to go.
What language are the sessions in?
Sessions are held in Russian. These English pages describe the formats, the prices and the rules so that you know what you are booking.
Write before you book
Send a couple of lines about what you want to work through. I'll tell you what I can be useful for and suggest a time.
- I reply within a working day.
- a consultation does not replace medical care
- confidential
